Remain or Leave? Things To Consider …

Euro MapI’ve kept out of this argument until now, but I thought I’d better speak out as it looks as if it is possible the Leave supporters might actually win. If you are a Leave supporter, please don’t allow that to stop you reading. Don’t you want an opinion from an pensioner who has worked in various industries, run businesses both successfully and with failures, and now relies on a pension? I hope I’m going to give you a different perspective, why not, at least, give me a hearing.

Firstly I think we all ought to consider what we are about to throw away. The European Union, or whatever you want to call it, is an experiment to try to ensure a good trading environment and the ability for people to move freely through a large area of the world.

The Decision To Permit Bombing In Syria

I am quite concerned by the fact that the country seems to consider the need to fly across the border from Iraq to Syria is the same as the dreadful mistake made by Blair and Bush to invade Iraq and then Afghanistan.

Blair and Bush have caused untold misery in the middle east and north Africa by their crusade to oust middle-eastern dictatorships and install the alien concept of democracy in its place. Western interference in Muslim countries has turned the middle-east from an area which welcomed visitors to one which no sensible non-Muslim will visit. This, in itself, has damaged their tourist industries, causing yet more blame to be heaped upon western nations and inspiring the religious fanatics of Daesh to grow in strength and influence.

All The World’s Tears

At 6.45am on 26th August, the American people permitted the murder of Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

TV shootingWhile carrying out their work, this TV partnership were gunned down. Adam fell immediately, but Alison did not. She saw this ex-colleague shoot her cameraman and turn the gun upon her. She ran screaming, but could not outpace his bullets which left this attractive 24 year-old girl’s body twitching on the ground as its lifeblood drained away and her brain struggled to accept what was happening to it and never knowing why.

Both left fiancés from the same TV station, one of whom witnessed the event live from the studio and the other had just celebrated their moving in together.

Two lives snuffed out and many more than two people forever traumatised by the action of the ex-colleague who then shot himself.

Ukraine. Isn’t this what I’ve been saying all along? Better put though.

I’m hoping ForeignAffairs.com won’t mind me copying part of the article taken from this page. to get John Mearsheimer’s excellent points across.

Borrowed from Reuters via ForeignAffairs.com

According to the prevailing wisdom in the West, the Ukraine crisis can be blamed almost entirely on Russian aggression. Russian President Vladimir Putin, the argument goes, annexed Crimea out of a long-standing desire to resuscitate the Soviet empire, and he may eventually go after the rest of Ukraine, as well as other countries in eastern Europe. In this view, the ouster of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in February 2014 merely provided a pretext for Putin’s decision to order Russian forces to seize part of Ukraine.

David Cameron – Stop Trying To Win Points Thrashing Out at Putin. It Does You And The British People No Credit Whatsoever! NOT IN MY NAME, Cameron!

I cannot believe the reckless rhetoric coming out of Cameron’s mouth which now seems to be catching on in the rest of Europe. How dare David Cameron call for a deliberate penalising of individual Russians and their businesses and, thereby, our businesses which do business with them, on an unproven point of principle.

Let’s just go back to the United States of America shooting down Iran Flight 655 over the gulf. There was no apology from America and I don’t recall any sanctions being applied to Mr Reagan and his cohorts and friends in industry. Yet this wasn’t some rag, tag and bobtail group of separatists supported by the USA which murdered those 300 people in that airliner in 1988. It was the actual United States of America and its government and military which shot down that jet. They got away with it and gave a piddling $70 million dollars in compensation. No sanctions, no United Nations condemnation, not even any criticism from Britain or Europe that I can remember.

Weapons Of Individual Destruction

I was saddened to read of the mentally disturbed soldier who entered his USA barracks with an illegal weapon, killed three other individuals, wounded many more and turned his weapon upon himself.

Someone failed in their duty of care for this person for he’d actually arrived at the barracks to receive treatment for possible depression and post traumatic stress disorder. He should not have been allowed to come into possession of a weapon and if he had been prevented from so doing then four people would still be alive today.

Who failed in their duty of care to this individual? Not the gun shop owner – not the military – not the medical and psychiatric personal. The people who failed in their duty of care to this man and those he killed is Continue reading
