Remain or Leave? Things To Consider …

Euro MapI’ve kept out of this argument until now, but I thought I’d better speak out as it looks as if it is possible the Leave supporters might actually win. If you are a Leave supporter, please don’t allow that to stop you reading. Don’t you want an opinion from an pensioner who has worked in various industries, run businesses both successfully and with failures, and now relies on a pension? I hope I’m going to give you a different perspective, why not, at least, give me a hearing.

Firstly I think we all ought to consider what we are about to throw away. The European Union, or whatever you want to call it, is an experiment to try to ensure a good trading environment and the ability for people to move freely through a large area of the world.

The Caring Face Of Britain – I Don’t Think!

It has started. David Cameron has had an overall majority for five days and we are already pumping out the warning signs of Tory lack of compassion. This time it is African and middle-eastern refugees.

Can you imagine for a moment what it would be like to be one of those poor people risking your life and that of your family to get across the Mediterranean to the safety of Europe. An escape from countries which Britain and the west have turned into civil disaster zones.

Have They All Gone Mad? We’re Living In A Hovel!

I want to introduce a concept to you. Imagine the country is your home. It is made up of the bricks and mortar, the roof, the inner walls and windows. It includes certain essential living items like a cooker, central heating, fridge, carpets, beds, furniture and within that we place our luxuries such as televisions, stereo system, food mixers, microwave, cutlery, glasses, wine, food, overseas holidays, new cars, dining out etc.

This is, of course, extremely simplified, but I just want you to consider a relatively simple analogy.

The End Is Nigh!

If there are still NO supporters who don’t believe the lies and deceit Westminster is pumping out about Scottish independence then I hope they will read this item. I appeal to them to do so before they cast their vote in the wrong direction on Thursday.

Scotland has been cheated for the last forty years and a vote for NO means we will continue to be cheated for the next fifty years.

Think about it. Beware of rhetoric. Read, read, read all you can on the subject. Not the threats of what Independence will destroy, but the awful risks we are taking by continuing to trust the union. Don’t be fooled by Cameron’s crocodile tears. He is in fear of his job as the prime minister who lost the Scottish cash cow! A black gold Aberdeen Angus!

Here it is.

You Really Have To Separate The Lies From The Truth

Let’s take them one at a time.

BANKS

Darling said, on national television today that all of the banks have said that they will move business south.

The truth is that NONE of them are moving jobs to England. They are considering the possibility of having to be registered in England instead of Scotland, but a registered office is nothing more than that, “A place where the business is registered.” RBOS actually said there would be no jobs moving south in an official letter. So was Darling lying? Yes he was and it is very scary and some people will believe the scare stories.

Why The Gap Is Closing. Scottish Independence. What They Don’t Want You To Read!

Scotland's assetsI have not written this for pro-independence supporters. This is written for those who are still supporting ‘no thanks’ or undecided. There is a reason the gap is closing and is now only 6 percentage points – it is because the scare tactics are being overcome, one by one.

Better Together (BT) have continually tried to scare Scots over the currency, Europe, pensions, health, savings and oil. As these have been answered, the strength of the no campaign has gradually, but steadily weakened. What I intend to do here is explain why the ‘scares’ are no longer so scary. Scaring as a tactic never works and is the final refuge of those who don’t really have any constructive arguments. If you are undecided or intending to vote no or not vote at all, then can I appeal to you to read this? it will only take five minutes of your time and could affect the rest of your life. Please email me with questions or for any clarification.

Ukraine. Isn’t this what I’ve been saying all along? Better put though.

I’m hoping ForeignAffairs.com won’t mind me copying part of the article taken from this page. to get John Mearsheimer’s excellent points across.

Borrowed from Reuters via ForeignAffairs.com

According to the prevailing wisdom in the West, the Ukraine crisis can be blamed almost entirely on Russian aggression. Russian President Vladimir Putin, the argument goes, annexed Crimea out of a long-standing desire to resuscitate the Soviet empire, and he may eventually go after the rest of Ukraine, as well as other countries in eastern Europe. In this view, the ouster of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in February 2014 merely provided a pretext for Putin’s decision to order Russian forces to seize part of Ukraine.
